Swimming for a Cause: Join Our Kids’ Triathlon & Pool Party in Nashville

May 29, 2026

With school out and the weather warming up, we’re betting Nashville families are ready for something cool to do to kick off the summer. We have just the thing: a splash-tastic afternoon of swimming, biking, running, community, and poolside fun, all while supporting an incredible cause right here in Nashville!

Our team at Nashville Swim Academy is thrilled to invite your family to our first charitable event, the Kids' Fun Triathlon & Pool Party on Saturday, June 6th, at our brand-new flagship pool in The Nations. Join us in making waves to fight cancer and to celebrate the grand opening of our state-of-the-art facility.

All proceeds from our event benefit cancer research at the Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center through Swim Across America, which takes place on June 14th at the Ensworth Natatorium. And because we're deeply committed to this cause, NSA will match every dollar raised through Swim Across America near Nashville up to $2,000.

Mark your calendars and sign up today, because when it comes to this year’s Nashville Swim Academy Events, this is one you won't want to miss.

A Fun Community Event for a Great Cause

At NSA, we’re as much about giving families in Middle Tennessee access to a premier learn-to-swim program as we are about bringing our community together and strengthening its bonds. At the pool, every moment is an opportunity to improve swim technique and water safety. Outside the pool, we’re equally committed to excellence. We want kids to see what it looks like to support and show up for their community, and in that spirit, we are very proud to help raise money for cancer research through our upcoming kids’ triathlon and pool party.

As Krysten Call, founder of NSA, puts it, there are very few opportunities for families to do something active together that feels genuinely welcoming for everyone. Our triathlon is designed so kids can show off their swimming, biking, and running skills while celebrating their accomplishments alongside their families, fellow NSA families, and the community at large. There’s no pressure and no intense competition. Instead, our event is about participation, helping others, and reminding kids how rewarding it can be to put away their devices and spend time being physically active.

What Families Can Expect at the Kids’ Triathlon & Pool Party

The triathlon format is straightforward and family-friendly. We’ve designed a safe, supervised swim, a closed-loop bike course, and an exciting run with cheering families lining the way. Distances are thoughtfully broken out by age group, beginning with little ones ages 6 and under and continuing through ages 11–14.  Every category includes achievable, confidence-building swim, bike, and run goals so kids can feel good about themselves for their achievements and for what they’re doing to support a very good cause.

The fun kicks off at 1:00 PM with the triathlon, followed by a high-energy pool party starting at 3:00 PM. Everyone is welcome!

We should also mention that athletes of all levels are encouraged to participate. You don’t have to be a competitive swimmer to join in. We’ve arranged the event so that caregivers can accompany their children, with NSA staff available at every transition point to guide participants and keep safety front and center. Whether your child is a confident swimmer or still finding their stride, this event is an ideal platform for them and for nurturing their interest in athletics. We wanted to create the kind of Nashville swim event for everyone.

A Positive First Triathlon Experience for a Good Cause

At NSA, our goal is to cultivate within kids a genuinely positive relationship with the water and with being active from an early age.

Our Kids’ Triathlon is a natural extension of that philosophy. We want to encourage kids and families to participate in an activity centered on joy and the pride that comes with accomplishing something challenging together. Just as one of the many Swim Across America locations across the country channels the power of swimming to fight cancer, our Kids’ Triathlon is meant to reflect the same spirit of community, encouragement, and collective support for an important cause.

Join the Fun This June!

We'd love to see your family there! Register online through NSA's dedicated event page or via the link in our May newsletter. If you'd like to get involved in the event’s production, we have many volunteer opportunities, including photography and day-of support roles. You can browse the different options on our website's SignUpGenius page. Donations to support cancer research can also be made directly through the site.

Whether your child is a novice swimmer or will be crossing their very first finish line, this is a chance for Nashville families to come together, stay active, and support something truly meaningful. Let's make waves for cancer research and have an unforgettable time doing it.
